HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS

AROUND HERSHAM, SURREY

Housing development in Hersham, Surrey is accelerating. This page brings together the major housing developments that have recently been delivered, are approved, or are currently being proposed around Hersham and Walton-on-Thames, so residents can see the cumulative picture in one place rather than judging each application in isolation.

The interactive map below plots every site. Taken together, current schemes represent a local pipeline of c.1,416 homes and units around Hersham. A further 671 homes have already been delivered nearby at the former Birds Eye and former Rydens School sites, shown in green for context and deliberately not added to the c.1,416 figure. Two larger schemes outside Hersham, at Moore Place in Esher and Chippings Farm / Fairmile in Cobham, are plotted in purple because they draw on the same roads, schools and health services, and they are likewise excluded. Pleasant Place (c.40 homes) is a very early emerging site with no major application identified, and is excluded from the pipeline total and not plotted on the map.

The purpose is to help residents understand the cumulative scale of housing development in Hersham and the potential pressure on roads and traffic, school places, GP and dental capacity, public transport, water supply, sewage, surface water drainage and other local infrastructure.

Last checked: September 2026. This is a live working record; figures, statuses and planning references may change as consultations and applications progress.

On the Molesey Road figures: the tracker uses the planning screening figure of up to 280 dwellings under 2026/0671. Fairview’s June 2026 consultation material referred to up to 290 homes. The screening decision was that an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required.
